While our cultural conditioning can lead us to believe that we can't afford to take time off or to invest in ourselves, it's actually the very thing that has us feel great and attract more great into our lives.   

It's been a turbulent last few years to say the least.  

2020 brought to the surface what no longer works, a shift in paradigm and a call for change.  

2023 is inviting us to live, be and create in new ways.  New ways that can feel unknown, overwhelming and disorienting.

Day 1:

• Private Charter Plane flight from SJO airport to Dominical. 
• "Welcome to The Shine Retreat at Imiloa" dinner and meet the beautiful local staff.
• Sound Bath surrounded by the jungle.  Set in the Heart of Masters open air gathering space, local facilitators bring together instruments from singing bowls, chimes, didgeridoo and others to quiet the mind and take you into the Alpha /Theta brain waves for a relaxing and healing experience.
• Snuggle up in your luxurious room surrounded by the healing sights and sounds of beautiful Costa Rica. Your Soul hugs you goodnight. 

Day 2:

• Delicious and nourishing breakfast in the Heart of Imiloa, tea and Costa Rican coffee.  Buenas Dias! 
• Inquiry Sessions with Shine Life Design Founder, Jaime Myers.  Cultivate peace and stillness in your life, tune deeper into intuition and your innate inner-compass.
• Morning ecstatic dance, a free-form movement space in the healing jungles of Costa Rica.  Feel the rhythm of the beat, move in any way that feels good to your body and soul.  Let that sh** go. 
• Inquiry Session with Jaime Myers.  Discover a shift in perspective for more peace, ease and freedom.
• Nourishing lunch -  art on a plate.   Is this a dream? 
• Creative Expression Session with Artist and Founder of Mining the Magic, Laurie Eastwood.  Re-connect with your imagination, move from head to heart and re-ignite your creative genius. 
• Medicinal Garden Tour and tea tasting.  Learn about the healing plants and herbs grown at Imiloa.
• Delicious Dinner Gather in community at a long table in the open air space of the Heart of Imiloa - candlelight, the sounds of the jungle, the warm climate of Costa Rica.  What an incredible day it's been.  
• Return to your luxurious, blissful accommodations.  Night, night.

Day 3: 

• Nourishing breakfast in the Heart of Imiloa. Buenos Dias!  
• Inquiry Session with Jaime Myers.  Dissolve old thought patterns, have peace with cycles of change.  Gain insight from one another and connect through shared and varied experiences.  
• Creative Expression Session with Artist and Founder of Mining the Magic, Laurie.  Continue to layer and create your art piece that can serve as a playful and meditative experience as well a visual representation of what's being illuminated at your retreat.  
• Lunch - beauty to the eyes and fuel for the body. 
• Cacao Ceremony with Queen of Ceremony, Alia Reedy.  Overlooking the ocean and basking in the warm jungle air, explore unconditional love for self and others with a blessed heart-opening Cacao ceremony and sound bath. Offered in its traditional intention and enhanced through sound frequencies, experience an opening of the heart chakra and an invitation to creative celebration. 
• Delicious Dinner Gather in community at a long table in the open air candlelit space of the Heart of Imiloa - reflection on the day, laughter, the feeling of connection to all, the presence of love and gratitude.  Bliss 
• Cozy up in your jungle abode.  Sweet dreams, beautiful you.  

Day 4:

• Nourishing breakfast in the Heart of Imiloa, tea and Costa Rican coffee.  ¡Pura vida!
• Morning at Playa Linda Beach.  Put your toes in the sand, enjoy a stroll on the beach or dip in the warm waters of stunning Playa Linda.
• lunch - love for the tummy. 
• Inquiry Session with Jaime and Completion of Art with Laurie. 
• Mock-tails and sunset gathering. Life is beautiful. 
• Candlelit Dinner  Together in the space of wonder and connection. 
• Evening yoga and meditation by candlelight.  Overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we'll conclude the last evening of the retreat with integration yoga and meditation.  

Day 5:

• Delicious and nourishing breakfast in the Heart of Imiloa, tea and Costa Rican coffee.
  ¡Hasta la próxima!
• Completion Circle.  I will always remember you and these precious moments we shared together.
• Private Charter Flight back to SJO airport.

Plant based locally sourced organic, imaginative and healing meals prepared by 5-Star Imiloa Chef Daniel. One of the core values of Imiloa is food sustainability.  They use locally sourced ingredients from up to a dozen farmers and vendors within a 90 minute drive from Imiloa.

I'm a champion for creativity on every level and have a strong belief that we, as human beings, are wired to create. I am intrigued by the creative spirit within each of us, that unfettered joy of making something…anything. 

Embracing our creativity challenges us, puts us in a place of the unknown, expands our understanding, opens our hearts, asks us to be courageous and to trust in the process. Every piece of creative endeavor is a new beginning, a new possibility. 

I began my art journey by creating black and white photos that I hand tinted, printed, framed and sold in the wholesale market, including Restoration Hardware and Eddie Bauer Homestore. It became a very successful business which I loved until I didn’t. It became familiar and known, the opposite of what creativity offers, the magic in the unknown! After 12 years, I left the business and began my search to understand and embrace the creative process. 

During the creative sessions, I encourage trusting the process and embracing mystery over mastery.  Like a metaphor for life; we practice playing and engaging with the art from a place of curiosity, courage and compassion.
